The Light Ring Tells You Everything
Managing your fridge or pantry shouldn't be difficult, but most of the time, it's a major challenge! With your Ovie LightTags, that little help in the kitchen we've all wanted has finally arrived.
At a glance, you'll have all of the information you need, to waste less of what matters to you. Below is a helpful guide to how your LightTag will behave and what it means.
How does my Ovie LightTag know to light up?
Your Ovie LightTag has a light sensor built in, so when the light around it gets brighter (like when you open the fridge or the pantry door) the LightTag knows to power up and tell you what it knows!
When the LightTag is set and it senses a light change, it will show you the status of what you're tracking for about 15 seconds using these light indications:
- Teal: still tracking
- Yellow: last day
- Red: too late
After 15 seconds, the LightTag will return to sleep mode.
If one of your LightTags does not light up or if you left the fridge door open too long and your LightTag went to sleep, simply click the button once to show the status. For this status check, your LightTag will display the status by showing a blink for each day remaining.
For example, if you set your LightTag for 4 days and it's been in the fridge for 2 days, when you push the Ovie button it will blink 2 times in teal, indicating it is still tracking and there are 2 days remaining.
Occasionally, you'll see some other light flashes from your LightTag. Those are described below:
- Purple: your battery may be getting low, and we recommend replacing it. Follow this link if you need help with that: link to battery change FAQ
- White: when it's time to turn off and reset the LightTag so you can track something new, hold the Ovie button down for a few seconds until you see the light ring flash white 2 times. For more information on resetting your tag, click here (insert link to tag reset FAQ)
